A customer had noticed their boiler was losing pressure which can often be a sign of a leak and it was also unable to maintain any pressure. After an emergency plumber was initially unable to find the cause of the leak, CPL t/a Rainbow Restoration were appointed by their insurer under the Trace & Access section of their insurance policy.
We attended the customer's property in Tonbridge to carry out a Trace & Access (Leak Detection) Inspection. The technician scanned the floor for pipework using a C.A.T & Genny device. Using the very latest Leak Detection equipment of thermal imaging and acoustic detection to detect any anomalies, our engineer was able to pinpoint the leak to a pipe in the kitchen floor. We determined that the pipe within the floor had a hole, resulting in large volumes of water escaping, which was accumulating at the lowest point, in the adjoining garage.
Our Leak Detection experts were able to pinpoint the leak and then excavate the pipework allowing us to repair the pipes and stop the leak. Whilst repairing the initial leak, another leak was found in the same area, so our Leak Detection Expert repaired both affected pipes.
Because of the sheer volume of water loss and as most of the water was trapped within high-quality building materials, we recommended Injection Drying as it is a low-impact building drying method. This removes the need for extensive strip-out and reinstatement work.
We found the leaks causing the water damage to the customer's property, repaired the two pipes and then tested their heating system. We professionally dried out the property to remove all moisture using Injection Drying. As a result, this meant cost savings for the customer and minimal disruption.
Refrigerant Dehumidifiers: These energy-efficient dehumidifiers effectively extract moisture from the air, using heat. They work by recycling refrigerant liquid using a closed-loop system.
Injection Drying: Injection drying is a low-impact method of drying, which reduces the chances of stripping out and reinstating the property. We also used the state-of-the-art Aerial AER Cube which is the very latest in pressure drying equipment. It is much faster at tackling water damage than traditional drying methods.
